The next-generation of KTM 1290 Super Adventure was spotted testing which reveals interesting details about the bike. Looks like the new Super Adventure sports a few changes from the existing model. The KTM 1290 Super Adventure is the manufacturer’s flagship dual-sport motorcycle.
The heavily disguised test mule had the larger front fairing highlights the new bodywork extending towards the bottom, covering more of the engine. Similarly, an adjustable windscreen and a temporary small, round headlight on the front end could be seen in the bike.
Taking about the components, the twin fuel tanks was positioned slightly below than the existing model in a bid to shift the weight lower to further aid handling. The spy pics also revealed a larger TFT screen, positioned higher, right behind the windscreen for better viewing. The test bike was equipped with front and rear WP suspension.
Since it’s the 2020 model, the 1290 Super Adventure’s engine will also require changes in order to comply with the new Euro 5 emission and safety standards. The current generation of the 1290 Super Adventure is powered by the same 1,301cc, V-twin that generates a sizeable 160hp and 140Nm of torque.
KTM is expected to showcase the motorcycle at this year’s EICMA show in Milan, Italy. KTM is likely to reveal the production version of the new 1290 Super Adventure for global markets by 2020.
