Retro motorcycles are popular in Europe for their sales. Now, the Yamaha wants to increase the sales of retro motorcycles in Asian market as well. Yamaha is planning to launch a 150cc segment retro bike in Indonesia that will be called Yamaha XSR155.
The design language will be inspired from the bigger XSR 900 and XSR 700 models that retail in Europe. The XSR line-up are called the Sports Heritage range and are known to offer the best sporty riding. Yamaha XSR155 is expected to get a retro-style rounded headlamp and a circular instrumentation unit seen in the bigger XSR range.
In terms of mechanics, the motorcycle is expected to be powered by the same 155cc engine that powers the R15 v3. The motor churns out 19.3 PS and 14.7 Nm and will be mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will feature a slipper clutch and upside down forks in the front. The rear suspension will be handled by a monoshock. The Yamaha XSR155 is expected to be launched in Indonesia by November 2019.
